Parts cleaner sells for $3,400 at auction
Rock Car Parts cleaner sold for $5,000 on eBay earlier this month, making it the second-highest selling scrap car parts item on the site.
The seller, who has been contacted by News24, said the car parts cleaner was a rare item and could be worth anywhere from $1,000 to $5.000.
“The item is a true antique car parts and scrap car part and it is probably one of the most beautiful items I have ever seen on eBay,” the seller said.
The item was first spotted in September last year by the Australian Museum.
Its seller said he would be willing to swap parts for scrap cars, but he would need to sell the item to cover the cost.
He said the item was in the condition it was when he bought it and that he had never used it before.
“This was my first car, it is a rare car parts cleaning kit, and as far as I know, it has never been sold,” the buyer said.
“The items are extremely rare and I would be happy to swap it out for a different car parts kit.”
The seller said the scrap car was part of a collection of more than 1,000 cars he had been collecting.
