Toyota will open 1.5 lakh new stores in India by 2019.

The global car maker said on Monday that it has set up a new factory in Mahim, near Chennai, and plans to hire over 1,000 new workers.

It will also build 1,400 new vehicle production lines across the country and create 2,000 jobs in manufacturing by 2020.

Toyota said it has invested $15 billion to create 500,000 manufacturing jobs in India over the next five years.
